As a small business coach and speaker with over 30 years of business experience, he’s observed a consistent behavior: people underestimate their talents and natural ability. He lives to derail this behavior using humor and unlearning.

For more than 30 years, Bob Cole has been the most listened to morning show host in Austin, Texas. In 2012, Cole, who is committed to the cultural preservation of Austin, recreated and launched the iconic KOKE FM, the station most credited for serving as the defining catalyst of progressive Texas Country music. Personifying artists like Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson have often said “KOKE FM is the station that started it all…”   Cole’s commitment to cultural preservation is demonstrated in his other business ventures as well: Hill’s Cafe, The Tavern and Frisco/Nighthawk restaurants. These cultural icons are thriving today because Austinites remain committed to seeing this aspect of Austin’s unique character survive for future generations to enjoy. Bob was inducted into the Country Music Radio Hall of Fame in 2003 and the Texas Radio Hall of Fame in 2008. He has also been honored as the CMA’s DJ of the Year in 3 different market size categories as Austin’s population has grown since 1980.

Community service is the benchmark of Bob’s life commitment, serving as Austin’s most visible and requested non-profit fundraiser event host, emcee and charitable organizational board member. Likely, there is no more of a familiar, consistent and comforting voice in all of Austin. Bob Cole narrates PBS and other TV series specials and documentaries. His stadium calls of all sports are heard from House Park to UFCU Disch-Falk Field to DKR Texas Memorial Stadium. His association with the Show Band of the Southwest, The Texas Longhorn Band, dates back to 2000, where he is honored to serve as “The Voice of LHB” at all home and road exhibitions.  Bob and Linda, his wife of 39 years, have a 29-year-old son, Jason, and a 28-year-old daughter, Amanda. Jason is a Major League Baseball scout for the Tampa Bay Rays. Amanda’s passion is found at the Austin Police Department, serving as a Media Liaison for Public Information, and will attend the Academy in 2017 to become an Austin Police officer. Bob Cole resides in deep South Austin.
