Foster Angels of Central Texas is a designated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We offer foster children in Central Texas what they need when they need it most.  That moment of need for children in foster care is not next week or next month. It’s today, right now.

Foster Angels provides immediate assistance to foster children in the form of basic needs (clothing, food, beds, medical expenses, transportation, education) and life-enhancing experiences (birthday parties, camp, sports and the arts).

Our philosophy is that foster children must be exposed to positive influences, activities and experiences that help them to flourish and reach their full potential. We help provide enriching experiences that will shape a child’s life and most of all, their future.

Our simple, proven program allow us to operate efficiently and keep kids from waiting for crucial assistance. Many of these children have already experienced years of waiting…waiting for a family, for safety, and for joy.

And at Foster Angels, we believe it’s that one moment of caring, given at just the right time, that often translates into a lifetime of difference.

Who We Serve

We are located in Austin, Texas and serve the foster children of Region 7 which consists of 30 counties in Central Texas. As of last year, there were over 6,300 children in our region.

How We Do It

Foster Angels has formed strategic alliances with Child Protective Services (CPS) which allows us to obtain information regarding the various needs of our community’s foster children. Caseworkers deal with the desperate needs of our foster children day after day and know how much these children need that the state cannot fund. We also receive requests from local non-profit agencies to help fill the needs of children they are overseeing.

Caseworkers submit requests to us on a daily basis and we respond within 48 hours.  We provide funds for clothing, education, food, housing (think beds), adoption, medical needs and events in the children’s lives which build self-esteem and community. For example, we fund extra curricular activities, camps, special occasions such as prom or graduation.  These children wholly depend on agency resources for their survival, and when those means are no longer available, they can turn to us.

Local Needs and Low Administrative Overhead

One outstanding fact about Foster Angels is our dedication to keep our administrative costs to a minimum.  This way, our funds can help the children directly, as our objective is to put the money to work directly for them. All of the funding we receive remains in our community. In other words, we use all of our money to benefit the Central Texas area exclusively.
